Frequently Asked Questions
Navigating the world of car servicing can be confusing for those not in the industry. The team at GMW wants to change this relationship with mechanics and the customers. We’re dedicated to not just fixing your car but offering advice and information about the ins and outs of the services required. Our goal is to make sure you do not only feel more informed about what our team is doing when we work on your car, but also learn a thing or two along the way. With that in mind here are some questions (and answers) that we commonly get asked about our walnut blasting service.

Log book servicing is for vehicles that are still under manufacturer warranty and offers you a timeline of when your vehicle is due for any service. Maintaining this service schedule is vital to making sure that your car stays under warranty, so it is important to stay on top of.
However, most people believe that to maintain your log book, you must take it into your dealer service centre, but this is not true. Log Book servicing agents, like the team at GMW, are also able to perform log book servicing just as well, and at a much more affordable rate than a dealer service mechanic.
That also depends on the type of service you will need. If it is a standard oil change and service, it will start at around $xxx and up (depending on the type of vehicle). If it is a bigger repair such as a transmission service or radiator service, it will cost more than the standard oil change.
However, we will always work to give you the best price. If there is something to fix on your car that can wait till the next service, we’ll let you know. At GMW, we will work with you to come up with a solution for your car to make sure it runs its best without hurting your wallet too much.
There is so much you can do to keep your car in top condition in between services, and they can also help extend the life of your car. Here are our recommendations:
- Check that all your lights and indicators are working
- Check tyre pressure: Your vehicles manual should have suggested tyre pressure, if not ask us and we will help you find the answer and show you how
- Learn how to check your oil, water and coolant levels- You can ask our team to show you how!
- Look for any check engine/warning lights on your dashboard: These can be serious problems so contact us straight away so we can run a diagnostic for you.
